Broken Glass I

Everything breaks at some point. Creating something wholly new and meaningful from what remains is its own kind of beautiful. This series of images was developed during the Covid Quarantine 2020. Created by layering digital photos of broken window glass with drawing, it was originally inspired by the protests for change during the same period.

Devoid of any color except black and white, its interest and beauty is the balance between contrasts and commonality. As with all creative explorations of a theme, it continually reveals more. Most notably, and as life would confirm, the bigger picture is always made from smaller, oftentimes disparate but necessary pieces. And there in lies the beauty.
